Lorelai Game
I've just finished my playthrough, got both Regular and Golden ending.I have many questions. I think WE ALL have tons of questions.Because Lorelai only asks questions but in the end gives no answers at all.Lorelai feels more like The Cat Lady's spin-off rather than 'answers ark' of the trilogy.I won't use spoiler formatting. This whole post is one big spoiler.Let us try and find some answers.1. Where is Lorelai's place in The Cat Lady and Downfall timeline? We saw Susan that looks like Susan from The Cat Lady but not Downfall. We saw Joe Davis with an axe in the dreamworld. We were at Helen Road, 12 but building is alright, no sign of fire.We saw Gladys' and Sheila's rooms in the Nursing. We didn't saw Mitzi, Agnes or Ivy. And no Joe Davis in the real world either. We saw Jimmy living in Joe and Ivy's apartment.2.
Who is Jimmy? Why did he slept in Joe and Ivy Davis apartmant? Is he The Crow from the Cat Lady?3. Why does Jimmy dies in the real world if he dies as a crow in dreamland? Is the real world not so real?Is it a dream within a dream? This quote from 'Inception' is used in the game.4. What is the House in the fields (where we meet Jimmy the Crow) within the House of Queen of Maggots? Why does Lorelai finds herself in that House in the fields and then needs to go to sleep, wake up in the QoM's House.5. Why the shark's fin soup brings Lorelai alive? Why not the candles of other people's lives?6. Why does Lorelai knows 'Praise the sun' from Dark Souls but never heard of Skyrim?7. Where is the phrase 'Devil went through here' in Lorelai?8.
Lorelai, by Harvester Games, is the conclusive part of R. Michalski's Devil Came Through Here adventure game trilogy, alongside The Cat Lady (2012) and Downfall (2016). A brand new horror adventure with an immersive story and world in full HD. Metacritic Game Reviews, Lorelai for PC, The little she had was taken away, but Lorelai refuses to give up, she will fight. And not even death will stop her from getting it all b.
Do 'Lorelai' has the secred bad ending? With no archivement behind to make it REALLY SECRET.The only possible answer I have is: Rem Michalski got a little bit tired of the Devil Went Through Here universe. He is in the position of both Lorelai's mother and stepdad. He wants to move on but we — his fans — want more Devil Went Through Here games. To make this story never ends.No offence.
I really enjoyed Lorelai. But the game doesn't fell like an end of Devil Went Through Here story. Originally posted by BlazWiz:6. Why does Lorelai knows 'Praise the sun' from Dark Souls but never heard of Skyrim?' Praise the Sun' can be used as 'Thank the powers that be' or atheistic way of jokingly saying 'Thank God'. It's possible that someone who never played Dark Souls heared this phrase and adopted it without gaming context.
Skyrim is very specific to gaming and has no meaning to someone who never played Elder Scrolls. What I would really like to know is what was the Queen? What's her end goal? Why does she do what she does? Why is her real form a baby-manequin-monster (other than Silent Hill inspiration:)) and why is it so easily defeated (Gladys and 2009 Sophie were much harder 'bosses')? Why does she appear as Lorelai right before her world is destroyed?

They all seemed to be easter eggs/shoutouts.Regardless, there are alot of great questions being asked here.that I don't have the answer to either.:/. Originally posted by BlazWiz:The only possible answer I have is: Rem Michalski got a little bit tired of the Devil Went Through Here universe.
He is in the position of both Lorelai's mother and stepdad. He wants to move on but we — his fans — want more Devil Went Through Here games. To make this story never ends. I think you're probably onto something with that.
I remember when you talk to Zach about his games, he didn't really seem so passionate about them anymore. He said something along the lines of how at least people still played them, and that must mean they're good to people even if he wasn't feeling it as much. I wondered if that was how the creator was feeling possibly.
Flood of Light starts at what appears to be the roof of a skyscraper in a futuristic environment. Flood waters have overcome every floor but the highest one, and so levels play out by tasking the player to lower the water level and therefore gain access to the floor below. The puzzles in Flood of Light involve moving platforms, activating switches and opening doors to complete levels which are pretty standard in puzzle games. However, the way that the game uses the girl’s power of controlling light orbs in interesting and unique. Flood of Light is a brain-teasing, puzzling, platformer that will give you hours of enjoyment and brain pains, in a good way. You will feel yourself being tested as you go from level to level, and you will feel good about solving these puzzles when you are done. Flood of light gameplay. Flood of Light. TCL was about depression, Downfall was about eating disorders. I was actually struggling to find some deeper symbolism here.
It touched (briefly) upon domestic violence and addiction, but only ever so slightly. It was more about vengeance than anything. Not to say I didn't like it, because I most certainly did. Maybe Joe we see is the Axeman, restitude from Joe's visit? The problem with Axeman is similar to the problem of Pyramid Head in Silent Hill series. He is the personal nightmare and alter-ego of Joe Davis (like Pyramid head is personal nightmare of James Sunderland). There is no point for him to apper in Lorelai's Otherworld except for easter egg.Yes, exactly. And as a huge, huge Silent Hill fan I found much of Downfall Redux to be way too similar to SH2, almost to the point of being distracting.

Why is her real form a baby-manequin-monster (other than Silent Hill inspiration:)) and why is it so easily defeated (Gladys and 2009 Sophie were much harder 'bosses')? Why does she appear as Lorelai right before her world is destroyed?Oh, but we had an answer for this question in The Cat Lady's chapter 7 (just find the walkthrough of this part on Youtube). The 'real Queen of Maggots' in 'Lorelai' is just a fake giant monster that does. NOTHING AT ALL. It is our faith in 'Devil' as in some 'monstrous beast that is evil because he is evil'. But no.Michalski gave us an answer in 'The Cat Lady'. Every one of us has his or her personal Queen of Maggots — him- or herself. 'The black shadow of our minds' in the wide meaning of this term. There was no need for the answer to this question from the very beginning: we got the answer in 'The Cat Lady'.
So in fact there was no need for the 'Lorelai' as the last chapter of 'Devil went through here'.We HAD the answer for the question 'Who is the Queen of maggots?' Since 2012.BUT.Do we have an answer for the question: 'What is real end for the DWTH?'
Maybe yes.Maybe the answer is much simplier then we thing.Maybe the whole point of DWTH is wether a 'normal life' is 'Golden ending' for us or not? Originally posted by:What I would really like to know is what was the Queen? What's her end goal?

Maybe yes.Maybe the answer is much simplier then we thing.Maybe the whole point of DWTH is wether a 'normal life' is 'Golden ending' for us or not? If this is true, then that leaves many questions.mainly in regards to all the supernatural stuff (visiting the otherworld, revival after death, interacting with Jimmy, etc.). I don't think the Queen of Maggots being a psychological figure is plausible.I get the symbolism, but it doesn't tie to the grand narrative at all. Since 2012.I would disagree - my personal monster would be much different than yours or anybody else's but all characters (Susan, Agnes, Laura) see the Queen as an eldery lady living in a house in the fields. My personal monster probably wouldn't resurrect me if I died. My personal monster doesn't allow me to talk to other people in dreams. Or predict future. Or see distant places. While Downfall 2009 could be seen as Joe's hallucinations for the most part, the trilogy gives us too many supernatural elements to treat it all as a vision or metaphore.

My personal monster doesn't allow me to talk to other people in dreams. Or predict future. Or see distant places. While Downfall 2009 could be seen as Joe's hallucinations for the most part, the trilogy gives us too many supernatural elements to treat it all as a vision or metaphore. 'The Cat Lady' and the whole 'Devil went through here' trilogy is one BIG GREAT metaphore.Queen of Maggots IS 'in fact a personification of Susan’s illness' in 'The Cat Lady'.
And this is not my thoughts, that's a quote from Rem Michalski's interview!Let's go a bit deeper.I can't find the interview in English but in the interview to russian game portal DTF Rem Michalski said that:'I have never met a real “parasite”, but I was always amazed at the idea that they live near us. In fact, The Cat Lady's “parasites” are a metaphor for the difficulties that we face in life and which prevent us from achieving goals.'
In 'The Cat Lady' Susan NEVER KILLED ANYONE.Parasites are Susan's inner demons.Doctor X can be her fear of psychotherapy and psychiatrists. Fear of the whole idea that her mental illness and depression can be cured with the help of other people. I had this fear myself.Pest control man is Susan's fear of her weakness against the real world hardships. That she can't really protect not only herself but also those who she loves. I think many of us faced this in our life.Gladys symbolizes jealousy, Susan's fear for that the other people are better than her. That she even wouldn't be the best friend for the person Susan thinks she is the best friend.
I was in such situation myself and that situation left it's 'scar'.Man with the flowers is the fear of the past. The past that can return. That we make the same mistakes and get the same sad result.Eye of Adam is a tricky one. I think he symbolizes the fear of the technology that can harm us one day.
The social networks. The people behind the 'posts'. Don't forget that in the beginning of 'The Cat Lady' Susan had no accounts in the internet. 'Friends: 0' She overcame that fear.
She found out that with the internet you can help and other people can help you.And about the candles.I've got a friend with the depression who often says things like: 'I hope one day i'd disapper because I supplant place for better and more interesting people in my friends and other people's lives'.' Leave this world for better people', - depression say, - 'The oxygen you breath can be breathed by people who can fight for their happiness and do different cool things!' That's why blowing out the candles is connected with the 'death' of other people.Every time the depressed person makes his mind to carry on he or she can think that somewhere somebody dies only because 'there cannot be place for everyone'.
'If I made my mind to live there wold be a person who have chosen not to'.But this choice between 'me' and that random person is only an illusion. The trick of the Queen of Maggots who just wants to take over us when we are almost ready to get rid of her.
