+1, I hate it when one game of the entire series isn't available. I've been chewing through the Heretic/HeXen series slowly and taking my time with it and I was a bit disappointed to learn I.still. won't be able to play them all. Similar thing happened to Splinter Cell 2: Pandora Tomorrow. Heretic II was one of the last 3-D action games to ship with fully playable co-operative gameplay. Heretic II has since inspired a new generation of third-person action game development and MODS. A testament to the groundbreaking impact of the title.

Welcome to the Heretic II Enhancement Pack update. This add-on has been created as a way of saying thank you to everyone who helped make Heretic II such a success. We appreciate your support.
Please note also that version 1.06 will not network with any previous versions of Heretic II, client or server. This is to insure the prevention of any version-oriented incompatibility and confusion.

What's Changed or Fixed Since version 1.00:
• Staff trails now turn red when a hit is made.
• You can now control which spin attack will be done via moving forward or run-strafing.
• Tweaked many special effects.
• Smacker files not played in deathmatch or coop now, for better dedicated server support.
• Minor net optimizations implemented.
• Ring of Repulsion reflects more projectiles, and does so more effectively.
• Ring of Repulsion no longer damages coop players.
• Toned down the staff and hand trails, because they were very renderer intensive, particularly in software.
• Tweaked the name display option so that it turns off when the player is in darkness. It used to not show the name only if the CAMERA was in darkness.
• Cleaned up animations for player turning in place.
• Phoenix bow does not set players on fire for long periods… it was too powerful.
• Toned down the chance of decapitation by a small amount.
• Friendly Fire deathmatch flag affects coop.
• Your name is now highlighted on the kill list.
• Created new console variables to disable certain items that some consider unbalancing
• You can set the game to not show some automessages, leaving more space for chat.
• Armor can now be taken between maps.

• Made interface more mod programmable, including bargraphs.
• Quickturn is cleaned up and works much better now.
• Adjusted crosshair targeting. It won’t autotarget when non-targeting weapons are equipped.
• Added obituary messages for when player is kicked or pecked (by a chicken) to death.
• Fixed kill crediting problem, where if player was killed by being burned, bled, kicked or pecked to death, it used to count as a suicide. Now proper credit is given, particularly if you were the cause of the fire or dismemberment.
• Meteors don’t get confused if their target teleports. Fixes problem of them “sticking”.
• Cleaned up a few graphics that you could see the borders of in the game.
• Armor shrines now indicate properly the color of armor you will be getting.
• Chicken now makes a sound when he tries or succeeds in pecking at someone.
• You now cannot pick anything up as a chicken.
• Removed the gender bias from the obituary messages. This is even more necessary with a female model, of course!
• Changed the color of the sparks around the thunderblast pickup. It was green, changed it to indigo (like the spell effect).
• Fixed sticking leader orbs and other special effects.
• Fixed the slow-walking bug.
• Fixed the demo playing sounds bug.
• Fixed the coop demo switching maps bug.
• Fixed potential sound bugs with reflected phoenix bows.
• Fixed a lightning bug with the storm bow.
• Minor fixes to getting stuck in objects.

• SZ_GetSpace crashes fixed.
• Fixed player swapping between local-client and remote-client(s) on loadgame on non-dedicated servers (problem doesn't seem to happen on dedicated servers).

• Fixed rare powerup bug where Corvus tries to cast when he shouldn't.

• Climbing and attacking with no arms is now fixed.
• Fixed a skin selection icon is wrong on the initial entry to the skin selection page
• Fixed string too long with hostnames.
• Fixed tornado not rendering in some circumstances.
• If you change skin in multiplayer, everyone else in the game is not forced to load that skin until you are done selecting.
• When selecting 'no_morph' or other variables like that, certain other items like the hell-staff were disappearing too… fixed.
• A client attempting to download from a dedicated server will no longer crash the entire server. Fixed from 1.04.
