Darksiders Iii Dusk Hall

Darksiders III is a Hack and Slash, Action-adventure video game made by THQ Nordic. It was announced on May 3, 2017 by THQ Nordic and was developed by Gunfire Games. It was finally released on November 27, 2018. It is the parallel sequel to Darksiders II and is the third installment of the. Alchemy garden download.

From Vulgrim’s location at the Splintered Station, head into the station ahead. Drop down onto the train tracks on the left and kill the pair of Armored Spiders. There are two passages leading off from the train tracks on the left. The first houses a corpse with a Medium Lurcher Clump, the second has a corpse holding a Sliver of Adamantine that is guarded by a swarm of Demonic Bats.

The station here also has an insect nest on the wall. Grab the friendly bug that it spits out and carry it out of the station via the other exit. At the bottom of this ramp, you’ll see a webbed-up tunnel entrance. In front of this is a red, hanging object in an organic sac of sorts. Jump and hack at this to have it drop the explosive red goop to the ground. Have the friendly bug eat the goop and then toss him into the webs to remove them from the path.

Before continuing through the now cleared doorway, continue down the ramp just below where we knocked down the red goop. There is an Elite Leaper at the bottom of this ramp. Kill him for a Sliver of Adamantine. You can also find a small opening in the wall next to where he had been standing. Crawl through this to find a Human Survivor [02/20] to save and another Sliver of Adamantine.

Return to where we removed the web and continue through the tunnel until you reach the next area. Drop down to trigger a tricky fight.

Darksiders Iii Dusk Hall

Mini-Boss – Broodmother

Here we’ll need to face off against a large, horned beetle called a Broodmother. In addition to the standard close-range melee attacks, this thing can also charge at you from across the room at high speed and deal significant damage if it comes into contact with you. Additionally, when it is not attacking, it can spawn a large number of 5-6 smaller yellow Beetles that will converge on your position and explode after a short amount of time.

Lure the Broodmother into attacking you before dodging and countering and laying into it with a few more attacks before backing away and repeating. When the yellow beetles appear, run away from them, but keep an eye on the Horned Beetle so you can avoid surprise attacks and resume attacking it once the yellow beetles explode. Continue this strategy until the Broodmother falls.

Once the area is clear, loot the Frenzy Shard, Small Healing Shard (this will have been hidden by one of the stalagmites in the room. If they are all still intact, use the explosive bugs to destroy them) and in the area where the Horned Beetle had initially been situated, you’ll find a Rejuvenation Core.

Note:Rejuvenation Cores increase the healing power of the Nephilim’s Respite healing item by +75. Nice! There are several of these in the game, so make sure to pick them up.
Note: For finding the first Rejuvenation Core, you’ll earn the Achievement/Trophy ‘Increased Vigor’.

With all that out of the way, note the webbed up door here. Ignore this for now and jump up to the ledge above it to find a Blue Soul Lurcher. Destroy this to grab the Souls you just earned from beating the Horned Beetle. Drop down and face the webbed door. Jump and slash at the hanging sac here to deposit the orange goop on the floor. Wait for the friendly bug nearby to dine on the fluid and then use him to destroy the webbing.

Grab another friendly bug when the next spawns (before it gets to the orange stuff) and carry it into the now open doorway. Proceed through the tunnel and destroy the statue on route for a Small Health Shard. In the room at the top of the slope, drop your friendly bug off at the pool of orange goo here (there will be another there already) so that we have two of them. We can now loot the room quickly. Destroy the statue close to the orange goo for a Small Healing Shard and in the back, right corner of the area you’ll find a Medium Lurcher Clump behind a pair of statues.

Return to the two bugs at the orange puddle. We’ll need to act quickly to get to the next area, so best read what to do first before attempting it. We need to first use one bug to destroy the red webbing (be careful as the red webbing will regenerate shortly after being burned) nearby and then grab the second bug, run through the new opening and then throw the bug at the white section of webbing on the left-hand wall. If you fail to do so, drop down to where we fought the Horned Beetle and grab another friendly insect to try again.

Once you have cleared the white webbing, continue through the tunnel and use the branch overhead to cross the gap in the cavern area. Approach the sounds of fighting nearby to locate the second of the Seven Deadly Sins – Wrath.

Boss: Wrath

Wrath is the second of the Deadly Sins that we will face, and he resembles a giant, armored demon equipped with dual axes. This is a much more straight forward battle than what we experienced with Envy and the main focus here is on Aracane Counters. This boss features a number of attacks that include:

AttackDescription
Melee Combo Wrath will perform a melee attack, or series of attacks using his dual axes (or bare hands if he has thrown his weapon).
Leap Attack The boss can perform a long-range jump attack that uses both of his equipped weapons to deliver a blow that will inflict heavy damage and knock you back.
Charge If you venture too far from Wrath, he’ll power up and catch on fire before charging at you at high speed. Just before he reaches you, he’ll execute a quick melee attack.
Blade Toss Wrath will combine his two axes together and then throw them at you. Dodge to the side to avoid this easily.
Kick After throwing his weapons away, Wrath will kick you if you attack him too frequently. It won’t do heaps of damage, but it will knock you back slightly.

This fight is actually fairly simple as Wrath only has a few different behaviors throughout the fight. Wrath is a damage sponge and his melee attacks can do a ridiculous amount of damage if you let him hit you as such, the trick is to not let him do that! Stay at mid-range and lure him into using his melee attacks a few times so that you get a feel for the various attacks and combos he uses. All of his attacks are fairly well telegraphed, so after you have seen them a few times, you should have no problem avoiding them. Once you get comfortable with those, begin to use Arcane Counters to strike back and follow up with another melee attack or two before backing off and repeating the process.

Try to stay at close to mid-range on this boss as much as possible as this will limit his use of the charge attacks which can be more difficult to avoid than his standard melee attacks. When he does charge however (with weapons or without) note that he’ll pause briefly at the end of his charge before unleashing a melee attack.

Once his health is reduced somewhat, Wrath will begin throwing his weapons at you occasionally. This ranged attack can be avoided by quickly dashing to the side. Without his weapons, he’ll then attack you with his bare hands for a while until his weapons return. Be careful during this period as when he is unarmed, he can kick you if you stay too close to him for too long and this will knock you back slightly and open Fury up for counter attacks. Still your best method for inflicting timely damage is to lure him into the standard melee attacks so that you can Arcane Counter.

Of course, if you have Havoc form and Wrath Attacks available, the fight against Wrath is a good a time as any to unleash them to inflict a healthy chunk of damage to him.

Continue to fight until his health is completely drained.

This will trigger a scene. Following the scene, you’ll end up in a brand-new area and in the presence of the Lord of the Hollows. After a short chat, he’ll summon a large group of shadowy skeletons to surround you. Fight them off to trigger another scene.

Once this second scene has ended, you’ll be rewarded with the Flame Hollow ability.

Note: The Flame Hollow ability is the first Hollow ability that Fury receives in the game and as with the others (as we’ll learn in time) it will switches Fury’s hair color – yellow in this instance. With the Flame Hollow active Fury will now be able to do a few new things including:
  • Fury can now walk through fire and lava without taking damage.
  • Her weapon attacks are also imbued with additional fire damage to enemies and also allows her to burn down webbing of both the red and white varieties which we’ve seen so far blocking paths and doorways.
  • Fury can now Flame Jump - a much higher, explosive double jump activated by down the jump button after an initial jump.
Note: For unlocking the Flame Hollow, you’ll earn the Achievement/Trophy ‘Fight Fire with Fire’.

After our chat with the Lord of the Hollows and the Flame Hollow now in our possession, we’ll also now be able to explore the Hollows.

Upon entering the Void, follow the path away from the Vulgrim plinth to reach a large platform across a floating rock bridge. There are some Golem enemies waiting for you here. Clear them all out.

Note: There are four wings, or areas to the Void zone. The first area is the Flame Wing as indicated by the floating torches with orange symbols and flames. The Flame Hollow is the primary hollow we’ll be using in this area (although you can snag some other goodies if you have the other Hollows unlocked).

From this central platform, find the stairs to the left of the end of the bridge we crossed to get here. At the base of the stairs, look for gaps in the edge of the platform to the left and the right. Approach these to have rock bridges appear. Cross the left-hand bridge to find a Medium Lurcher Clump and the right-hand bridge and hop up to the ledge at the end for a Demonic Artifact.

The highest point of the central platform has some stairs leading to an overhead grapple point. Before swinging across this gap, follow the path opposite the base of the stairs to the end to reach a platform we can drop down to with a corpse holding a Large Lurcher Clump.

Make your way back to the grapple point at the top of the central platform opposite the entry point and swing across the gap to reach the far side.

Strike the Void Orb here with a charged-up Flame Hollow attack. This will activate a bridge, allowing us to cross to the far side via a grapple point. Before doing this however, look down below the Void Orb platform to spot some blocks we can drop down to. Look in the recess below the Void Orb platform (where the bridge had been located) and enter to find an Angelic Artifact.

Climb back up to the bridge and cross to the far side via a grapple point.

Upon landing, loot the corpse there for a Medium Lurcher Clump before continuing through the door. Here we’ll arrive at the Flame Wing.

Descend the stairs and drop onto the larger platform below. Defeat the Golems that await you here. Loot the corpse by where you landed for Medium Lurcher Clump. Ignore the Void Orb at the centre of the platform and the large, smooth stone blocks at the far end. Instead hop across the gap to a second, smaller platform opposite the blocks. Kill one more Golem here before looting the Small Lurcher Cluster it had been guarding.
Return to the main platform and climb the large, smooth blocks to the area above.

Upon arriving at the elevated stone pathways, follow the path to the right first until you reach a large, square platform. Clear the Golem enemies here before looting the Small Lurcher Clump.

Return to where we hopped up and this time, take the left-hand path, past the Void Orb (remember the location) and all the way to the end. Here you’ll find a Small Lurcher Cluster.

Note: Storm Hollow LootFrom this location, you should be able to see another item on a platform in the distance. Approach the ledge closest to the item and look down to find another, smaller platform below you. Jump down to this. Use a Flame attack on the Void Orb here to raise a block nearby. Jump onto this and from the top, use the Storm Hollow to glide across to the platform in the distance for an Undying Shard.

To continue, return across the gap and to the Void Orb on the upper level we ignored earlier and use the Flame Hollow to activate it. This will send a pair of large blocks away from this platform. Return to the larger area below and use the Flame Hollow on the Void Orb here to send the lower set of smooth stone blocks to the left to join up with the group we just sent over. This creates a set of stairs we can use to reach the ledge above.

From highest of these blocks, jump down into the hole in the wall where the top two had been resting prior to being activated to find a Demonic Artifact inside. To escape, use the Storm Hollow to glide back down to the platforms below.

Upon reaching the platform above the stair-like set of blocks, you’ll see an open door on the left leading to a lava filled area. Ignore this for now (we’ll be back though after some looting!) and proceed to the end of the platform.
As you near the edge of this platform, a floating stone bridge will materialise below. Jump down to here and swing across the two grapple points to reach a platform in the distance. Defeat the Elite Golem here for a Sliver of Adamantine and destroy the pair of Golem statues for an Angelic Artifact and a Small Lurcher Cluster.

Make your way back to the lava room we ignored earlier and proceed inside.

In this room there will be 3-4 Large Golems and 2-3 Golems at ground level and a further four Ranged Golems sitting on stone pillars around the room. Keep your Flame Hollow active so that you can traverse the lava and work your way around the room, eliminating enemies as you go. Once it is clear, loot the area. You’ll find goodies in the following locations:

  • Atop the tallest stone pillar a the centre of the room is a Large Lurcher Cluster.
  • By a lava waterfall to the left of the stairs at the back of the room is a Small Healing Shard.
  • By a lava waterfall to the right of the stairs at the back of the room is a Large Lurcher Clump.
  • At the top of the stairs at the back of the room is a Medium Lurcher Clup.

From the top of the stairs continue to the left. Follow the path until you reach an open area above the bridge we created with the first Void Orb earlier.

Use your Flame charge attack on the Void Orb on your platform. This will create a bridge to the platform ahead, open a shortcut back to the start of the area and have a pair of stepping stone blocks appear on the right.

Make your way to the far side of the room first to find a locked gate. Hop down to the platform on the left (this leads as a shortcut back to the start of the area). Look below the platform with the locked gate to find a hole in it. Jump inside and pull the lever to open the gate. Climb back up to the platform above and head through the now open gate for a Sliver of Adamantine.

Return to the central platform and take the star-like blocks up to the platform above.

Grab the Medium Lurcher Clump from the corpse ahead and continue onto the passage to the left. Here you’ll find a Vulgrim Plinth – Limbo – Ashen Hall and in the area behind him another corpse holding a Large Lurcher Clump.

To continue, let’s explore the Ashen Hall area.
